Lavrov praises China's plan for settlement in Ukraine as clear, reasonable
The top Russian diplomat pointed out that the Chinese plan contains provisions that are interrelated and cannot be considered separately
MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. The Chinese plan for settlement in Ukraine is the clearest and most concrete among similar initiatives put forward, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters.
"We continue to welcome various initiatives put forward by countries of the Global South," the top diplomat said, recalling in particular the peace plans of African and Brazilian leaders. "And a number of other countries have put forward their proposals, but perhaps not as concrete and articulate. The clearest plan was presented by China last year," Lavrov said, calling the Chinese initiative "reasonable."
The top Russian diplomat pointed out that the Chinese plan, unlike the 'formula' of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, contains provisions that are interrelated and cannot be considered separately. "The most important thing for us is that the Chinese document is based on the analysis of the causes of what is happening and the need to eliminate these causes," the minister explained.
