Russia opened 20 special economic zones over past three years — PM Mishustin
The Russian government prepared a bill providing for the introduction of a preferential regime for a free economic zone in the Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk regions, as well as the Republic of Crimea
MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Special economic zones are a fairly effective mechanism - over the past three years, Russia opened 20 more such territories, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.
"Special economic zones remain a fairly effective support mechanism. Over the past three years, 20 more such territories have appeared, and preferential conditions have helped them attract a record-breaking volume of investment," Mishustin said.
The Russian government also prepared a bill providing for the introduction of a preferential regime for a free economic zone in the Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk regions, as well as the Republic of Crimea - the document will be considered at a government meeting, Mishustin added.
Mishustin also recalled that in 2023, additional volume of 1 bln rubles ($10.92 mln) was sent to these regions that were used for grants for enterprises and financing on preferential terms.
