Moscow drafting legal briefs to sue Kiev for its role in attacks inside Russia — diplomat
The forwarding by Russia of antiterrorism demands to Ukraine is part of the mandatory procedure, Maria Zakharova explained
MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. Russia will sue Ukraine in international courts for its role in perpetrating terrorist attacks on Russian soil, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Channel One television.
"Russia intends to go to international courts, and relevant paperwork is currently being drafted: both these legal documents and our country are going through the required procedures," she said.
The forwarding by Russia of antiterrorism demands to Ukraine is part of the mandatory procedure, Zakharova explained as she promised updates on the next steps in the process.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said earlier that Russian investigators had found evidence implicating Ukraine as being involved in recent terrorist attacks targeting Russia, including the deadly March 22 attack on a crowded concert at Crocus City Hall in suburban Moscow. In this context, the Russian Foreign Ministry has filed requests with the Ukrainian government, within the framework of the International Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings and the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism, demanding that Kiev immediately arrest and extradite all persons implicated in the attacks, including Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) chief Vasily Malyuk.
