Russia hopes that all the parties will fully implement the UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Strip throughout the holy Muslim month of Ramadan (which began on March 10), Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said.
"We hope that Security Council resolution 2728 will not remain ink on paper but will be fully implemented by all the parties and UN members and will promote the cessation of violence in Gaza, including the prevention of Israel’s operation in Rafah, as well as humanitarian assistance to civilians in the enclave and will help prevent their forcible deportation," he said at a UN Security Council meeting on the Middle East.
He called on the Security Council to ensure the resolution’s implementation.
