About 100 homes damaged in attack on Sevastopol on March 24
About 400 calls and messages were received from local residents, including those concerning fragments and explosive items
SEVASTOPOL, March 26. /TASS/. Nearly 100 apartment buildings and private homes and 30 commercial and administrative premises were damaged as a result of a missile attack on Sevastopol in the early hours of March 24, Sevastopol’s public security department director Alexey Krasnokutsky said at a meeting of the city authorities.
"The results of the attack: 96 apartment buildings and private homes were damaged, the same applies to 30 administrative and commercial buildings, 62 pieces of equipment, public transportation vehicles, 6 passenger boats and 25 private cars," he said.
About 400 calls and messages were received from local residents, including those concerning fragments and explosive items. On-site inspections identified more than damaged 330 windows, basements and roofs. Also, damage was caused to a school, a vocational training center, and two childcare facilities. Gas supply to 249 private houses was fully restored. The damaged windows were temporarily fixed.
In the early hours of March 24, Sevastopol came under a massive air attack. Falling missile debris killed one person. Four others suffered shrapnel wounds. Two of the injured were taken to hospital. Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said the Sevastopol authorities would provide all necessary support to the relatives of the killed man.
