No shift in London’s anti-Russian stance, notes Kremlin
British Secretary of State for Defense Grant Shapps stated earlier that Russia was resorting to irresponsible nuclear rhetoric in order to force other countries to stop rendering assistance to Ukraine
MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Moscow sees no movement in London's anti-Russian stance, including on the issue of nuclear weapons, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.
"On the whole, the stance of the British authorities and the rest of the British government’s representatives is extremely anti-Russian, hostile and antagonistic towards us. This is the way we see it," Peskov said at a daily news briefing commenting on the British government’s report on the future of nuclear deterrence in the UK.
British Secretary of State for Defense Grant Shapps stated earlier that Russia was resorting to irresponsible nuclear rhetoric in order to force other countries to stop rendering assistance to Ukraine, while China continued to increase its number of nuclear warheads and North Korea and Iran continued developing their nuclear programs.
According to the report, the UK is prepared to reassess its nuclear strategy if the international security environment changes.
