Drone forced down in Russia’s Samara region
The UAV was detected during an inspection of a forest near an oil refinery that was targeted in a March 23 attack
SAMARA, March 25. /TASS/. An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was forced down and neutralized in Novokuibyshevsk in the Samara Region, officials in the southwestern Russian region told TASS. There were no casualties.
"An unmanned aerial vehicle was intercepted and forced down in the Novokuibyshevsk municipal district. <...> [The incident] does not pose a threat to life or health of Novokuibyshevsk residents. The situation in the region is under control," the officials said.
The UAV was detected during an inspection of a forest near an oil refinery that was targeted in a March 23 attack. "The payload of the aerial vehicle that included an explosive device was neutralized before that was taken to a testing ground and destroyed," the officials added.
