Explosions in Zaporozhye damage machine room of Dnieper HPP-2 — politician
According to Vladimir Rogov, the Dnieper hydroelectric dam and the highway running along it were not damaged
MELITOPOL, March 22. /TASS/. Overnight explosions occurred in the Kiev-controlled city of Zaporozhye in the machine room of the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Plant-2 and on the adjacent dam, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together With Russia movement, told TASS.
"The explosions occurred in the machine room of the Dnieper HPP-2 on the left bank of the Dnieper River and near the railway tracks for gantry cranes, which are located on the crest of the dam," he said.
According to Rogov, the Dnieper hydroelectric dam and the highway running along it were not damaged. "There are traffic jams in the city [of Zaporozhye] because of the blocking of the Dnieper HPP," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Earlier today, the administration of the Kiev-controlled city of Zaporozhye reported that infrastructure facilities were damaged and traffic was restricted on the road crossing the Dnieper hydroelectric dam.
