Burkina Faso's leader intends to develop relations with Russia after Putin's re-election

NAIROBI, March 19. /TASS/. President of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore, expressed hope that the re-election of Russian President Vladimir Putin will contribute to strengthening the excellent relations that already exist between the two countries.
"Congratulations to President Vladimir Putin on his re-election as the head of Russia. On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Burkina Faso, I wish him every success. May this new mandate contribute to strengthening the already excellent relations between our countries for the happiness of the courageous people of Burkina Faso and Russia," he wrote on the X social network.
Russia held its presidential election on March 15-17, which was the country’s first three-day election and the first to offer voters the option of remote electronic voting, which was available in 29, or about one-third, of the country's regions. According to the Russian Central Election Commission, after 100% of all vote tally protocols were processed, incumbent President Vladimir Putin had garnered 87.28% of the votes with a record turnout for modern Russia of 77.44% of all eligible voters casting ballots.
