MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. Russian air defenses shot down a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the airspace over the Belgorod Region bordering on Ukraine and intercepted another one en route to the country’s southern city of Voronezh, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
"Attempts by the Kiev regime to carry out terrorist attacks with the use of aircraft-type UAVs last night against facilities on Russian territory were thwarted," the ministry stated. "A Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod Region by air defense forces on duty. Another UAV was intercepted over the territory of Voronezh," the ministry added.
Glazed balconies of two residential blocks and several cars were damaged in Voronezh in last night’s drone attack, Voronezh Mayor Vadim Kstenin wrote on his Telegram channel. There were no casualties, he added.
