About 1,500 journalists accredited to cover Russia’s presidential vote at CEC info center
According to Ella Pamfilova, about half of the accredited representatives of the press are from foreign media outlets
MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. About 1,500 journalists have been accredited to cover the Russian presidential election at the Central Election Commission (CEC) information center, about half of whom are from foreign media outlets, CEC Chairwoman Ella Pamfilova said during a meeting at the CEC information center.
"[Altogether,] 1,447 representatives from 90 media outlets have been accredited to work at the information center," Pamfilova said.
According to her, about half of the accredited representatives of the press are from foreign media outlets.
"[A total of] 12,645 representatives from 24,580 media outlets have been accredited to work at polling stations across the country," Pamfilova added.
The Russian Federation Council, or upper house of parliament, officially designated March 17, 2024 as the date of the presidential election. The CEC then announced that voting will take place over three days on March 15-17.
