Voronezh Region governor updates number of drones downed over his region to 40

Air alert is reported to remain in effect in the region

VORONEZH, March 13. /TASS/. Since last night, air defenses downed more than 40 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Voronezh Region, the governor of the central Russian region, Alexander Gusev, said.

"Air defense forces on duty and electronic warfare systems have detected and destroyed over 40 aerial targets over the Voronezh Region in the past 24 hours. According to the latest updates, there were no casualties or major damage. Air alert remains in effect in the region," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Earlier on Wednesday, Gusev said that more than 30 UAVs had been downed. The official also thanked the military for protecting the skies above the region, round the clock, on behalf of all its residents and the regional government.
