Situation in Belgorod Region under control after Kiev’s abortive attacks — authorities
Vyacheslav Gladkov pointed to Kiev’s intensified aggression in the information space and urged residents not to trust false information
BELGOROD, March 12. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military got a firm rebuff in its attempt to attack four districts in Russia’s borderline Belgorod Region and the situation is under control, Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel on Tuesday.
"Today has been quite a hard day for the Belgorod Region. The Belgorodsky, Shebekinsky, Borisovsky and Graivoronsky districts were attacked by Ukrainian armed formations. They got a tough rebuff by the Russian Armed Forces, the [FSB’s] Border Guard Service, the Federal Security Service and the Russian National Guard. The situation is under the control of security, defense and law-enforcement structures," he said.
The regional governor pointed to Kiev’s intensified aggression in the information space and urged residents not to trust false information.
As Russia’s Defense Ministry reported earlier on Tuesday, Russian troops jointly with the Federal Security Service (FSB) thwarted an attempt by the Kiev regime to break through into the borderline territory in the Belgorod and Kursk Regions.
According to the FSB data, Russian forces have thwarted several attempts by Ukrainian militants to violate the state border since March 10, destroying over 100 enemy personnel, six tanks, a French-made Caesar self-propelled artillery system, 20 armored combat vehicles and a stronghold. Russian forces continue pounding militants in the border area on Ukrainian territory, the FSB press office said.
