Russia ratifies protocols to loan agreements with Cuba
The total amount of the Cuban debt to be restructured amounts to $277.2 mln
MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law ratifying certain protocols introducing amendments to Russian-Cuban intergovernmental loan agreements and providing for the restructuring of the Cuban debt to Russia.
The document was posted on the web portal of legal information. Protocols on amendments were signed in Moscow on April 27, 2023.
The law approves ratification of protocols on amendments to agreements on export loans between the two countries.
The total amount of the Cuban debt to be restructured amounts to $277.2 mln, Russian Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Sazanov said earlier. Changes in terms of the debt repayment, such as payments in rubles, the deferral of scheduled installments to 2028-2040 and the procedure of interest accrual on deferred sums were agreed as a result of talks, the deputy minister said.
