France increasingly involved in Ukrainian conflict — Kremlin
Dmitry Peskov pointed out that very contradictory statements had been coming from Paris in recent days
MOSCOW, March 7. /TASS/. French President Emmanuel Macron is increasingly dragging his country into the fighting in Ukraine, which is absolutely not in the interests of his people, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"Mr. Macron is convinced of his line to inflict a strategic defeat on our country. He continues to raise the level of France's direct involvement in this war. From our point of view, this in no way corresponds to the interests of the French people," the spokesman told the program "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin."
Peskov pointed out that very contradictory statements have been coming from Paris in recent days. "On the one hand, Mr. Macron begins to discuss the issue of the possibility of sending military contingents to the Ukrainian conflict zone. On the other hand, the French foreign minister categorically denies the possibility of sending such contingents. There is a very active intra-French and intra-European discussion going on," the Kremlin spokesman said.
