SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, March 6. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin held brief talks with the head of the Gagauzia region of Moldova, Yevgenia Gutsul, on the sidelines of the World Youth Festival, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS.
"There was a brief communication on the sidelines of the forum," he said, when asked whether Putin and Gutsul held talks and whether he really promised to help this people in protecting their legitimate rights and views.
Gutsul earlier said on Telegram that she discussed the political situation in Moldova with Putin on the sidelines of the festival. She said the Russian president "promised to support Gagauzia and the Gagauz people in defending their legitimate rights, powers and positions on the international stage.".
