Ukraine’s military fires over 80 shells at Russia’s borderline Belgorod Region in past day

There were no casualties

MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military fired more than 80 munitions at populated areas in the Belgorod Region bordering Ukraine and carried out several drone attacks over the past day, Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.

"In the Belgorodsky district, 14 artillery shells were fired at the village of Zhuravlyovka and 6 artillery shells at the village of Shchetinovka. The enemy also attacked Shchetinovka with two kamikaze drones, with no consequences," the governor said.

In the village of Razumnoye near Belgorod, the roofing of a private home was damaged after air defenses repulsed a Ukrainian air attack. In the Valuisky district, the Ukrainian military attacked the village of Novopetrovka with three kamikaze drones on March 5, with explosion fragments damaging a truck. In the Volokonovsky district, the Ukrainian military bombarded the outskirts of the village of Yekaterinovka by tube artillery, with 10 shells hitting the area. In the Yakovlevsky district, electronic warfare systems brought a Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicle down to the ground in the area of the farmstead Fastov, he said.

In the Graivoronsky district, the Ukrainian army fired six mortar rounds against the outskirts of the villages of Spodaryushino and Dronovka each, four mortar rounds against the village of Bezymeno and two mortar rounds against the outskirts of the village of Zarechye-Vtoroye. In the village of Mokraya Orlovka, a Ukrainian drone dropped an explosive, damaging an infrastructural facility, Gladkov said.

"Ten mortar rounds were fired against the village of Kozinka. No one was hurt. Damage was done to a private home. The Graivoron international automobile checkpoint also came under fire, with one munition hitting the area. Air defenses shot down an aircraft-type drone between the villages of Kosilovo and Ivanovskaya Lisitsa," the regional head said.

In the Shebekinsky district, the Ukrainian military fired four rounds from an SPG-9 Kopyo grenade launcher against the farmstead Mukhin, damaging an electric power transmission line. The village of Novaya Tavolzhanka also came under fire, with eight shells hitting the area, the governor said.

"The enemy also attacked the village by six kamikaze drones. There are no casualties. Three cars were damaged. Six mortar rounds were fired against the outskirts of the town of Shebekino, four mortar rounds against the village of Sereda and four mortar rounds against the village of Murom," he said.
