Ukraine’s army fires over 40 shells at borderline Belgorod Region in past day — governor

MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military fired more than 40 munitions at populated areas in the Belgorod Region bordering Ukraine and used drones for its attacks over the past day, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel on Tuesday.
"In the Belgorodsky district, five mortar rounds were fired at the village of Shchetinovka and two explosives were dropped from a drone in the village. Air defenses shot down an enemy drone over the villages of Nikolskoye and Belovskoye each. There are no casualties or damage in these communities. After the Ukrainian air attack was repulsed by air defense systems, a damaged car was found in the village of Razumnoye," he said.
In the Borisovsky district, a Ukrainian quadcopter dropped an explosive in the village of Dubino. The blast damaged four private homes, smashed windows and inflicted damage on outbuildings, fences and facades, the governor said.
The Ukrainian military fired five mortar rounds at the village of Kozinka and two mortar rounds at the village of Dronovka, with no consequences. In the village of Novostroyevka-Vtoraya, a Ukrainian drone dropped an improvised explosive on an excavator and the vehicle completely burnt out, he said.
The Ukrainian military also fired three shells at the village of Vyazovoye and two shells at the village of Prilesye, he said.
"There are no casualties or damage in any of the district’s communities," the governor said.
A Ukrainian kamikaze drone attacked the outskirts of the town of Shebekino and a car was damaged by the drone’s fragments after it fell and detonated. In the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, 22 munitions hit the area, damaging a Gazel minivan and a private home, splintering the roofing, the facade and an outbuilding. The Ukrainian military also fired eight mortar rounds against the village of Terezovka and four mortar rounds at the farmstead Maryino, the governor said.
