Everyone will have to take Russia’s position on strategic borders into account — Medvedev
Time is playing against the so-called golden billion, or global 1%, and the US is no longer able to do anything about it, the politician believes
SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, March 4. /TASS/. All countries will have to take Russia’s position regarding its strategic borders into account, whether they want to or not, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said.
"Everyone will have to take our position regarding our country’s strategic borders into account, whether they want to or not. This is a part of our basic self-identity, if you will, the basic principles of our foreign policy for decades to come. And we will not back down, for the good of our friends and for the edification of our enemies," he said in delivering a lecture titled "Geographic and strategic borders" at the Znaniye (Knowledge) society marathon.
Time is playing against the so-called golden billion, or global 1%, and the US is no longer able to do anything about it, Medvedev believes. He explained that the strategic borders of those countries that are independent of the Anglo-Saxons will become wider and stronger.
"This is the essence of the new international order, the establishment of which is a thing of the foreseeable future. No supranational superstructures, like, and I underscore, NATO, the EU or some other military alliances that they are trying to establish in the Asia-Pacific today and that are aimed at keeping their strategic borders, will help them. History knows no reverse, it only moves forward," the senior official said.
