Another explosive device found after railway bridge blast in Samara Region — lawmaker
According to Alexander Khinshtein, no serious damage was done to the infrastructure, and no one was hurt
MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. One more explosive device has been found at the railway bridge blast site, a member of the Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) said.
"At the blast site on the railway bridge across the River Chapayevka in the Samara Region, bomb specialists found and disposed of one more live explosive device," Alexander Khinshtein, who represents the Samara Region in the national legislature, wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the lawmaker, no serious damage was done to the infrastructure. No one was hurt. "Ukraine’s intelligence has claimed responsibility for this pointless, as a matter of fact, act of sabotage," he added.
The Russian Federal Security Service’s (FSB) local directorate said earlier that a blast was heard on a railway bridge across the river of Chapayevka at 5:13 a.m. local time (1:13 a.m. GMT - TASS). The railway press service said that train traffic was suspended along this section.
Local emergencies services told TASS that the explosive device was planted at the railway bridge footing. According to preliminary information, the fence and bridge supports were damaged near the river bank.
