Ukraine’s military fires 80 shells at borderline Belgorod Region over past day — governor

No casualties were reported

BELGOROD, March 4. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military fired about 80 munitions at Russia’s Belgorod Region bordering Ukraine and attacked it with four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the past day, with no casualties reported, Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel on Monday.

"In the Graivoronsky urban district, 20 mortar rounds were fired against the outskirts of the village of Zarechye-Vtoroye and four mortar rounds against the outskirts of the village of Bezymeno. There are no casualties or destruction. Electronic warfare stations brought three kamikaze drones down to the ground in the outskirts of the village of Sovkhozny. The drones detonated as they touched the ground, with no consequences," the governor said.

In the Belgorodsky district, the Ukrainian military fired 18 artillery shells at the village of Zhuravlyovka. After the attack was repulsed by air defenses, damage was found in the settlement of Razumnoye: a window was smashed in a private household and a car was damaged, Gladkov said.

"In the city of Belgorod, an explosive device was found at a distance from a residential area: bomb technicians of the Russian Defense Ministry removed it and took it to a proving ground for destruction," the governor said.

In the Shebekino urban district, the Ukrainian military fired eight mortar rounds against the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, nine grenade launcher rounds against the village of Sereda, seven mortar rounds against the outskirts of the city of Shebekino and five mortar rounds against the village of Terezovka. In the Volokonovsky district, a kamikaze drone was shot down close to the farmstead Stary. The drone detonated but caused no damage. Also, the outskirts of the farmstead Stary came under mortar fire, with four munitions hitting the area, he said.
