Some Ukraine’s attacks on airfields in Russia impossible without US specialists — Lavrov
The Russian foreign minister commented on the US intention to resume the strategic stability dialogue with Russia
ANTALYA, March 1. /TASS/. Some of Ukraine’s attacks on strategic airfields inn Russia would have been impossible without American specialists, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
"How can the Americans seriously ask to be let to our strategic facilities, when several attacks staged by the Ukrainians on our strategic airfields with the use of long-range weapons would have been impossible with the participation of American specialists, including the participation in the format of modernizing these missiles to add to their range," he said at a diplomatic forum in Antalya, commenting on the US intention to resume the strategic stability dialogue with Russia.
"They will ask what they (the Americans - TASS) want on the one hand and approach from the other side. Via the foreign ministry, via other structures, only to derive unilateral advantages," Lavrov added.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his State of the Nation Address that the United States’ statements that it is interested in holding strategic stability talks with Russia are nothing but a campaign rhetoric. "They are simply seeking to show to their own citizens, and everyone else, that they still rule the world," he stressed, adding that Russia "is dealing with a country whose ruling circles are taking overtly hostile actions against it."
