Putin voices most competent forecast for country’s development in his address — Kremlin
Dmitry Peskov added that, in many ways, the address became part of Putin’s presidential election campaign
MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined the most competent forecast and plans for the country’s development in his annual State of the Nation Address to the Federal Assembly, or Russian parliament, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"Naturally, the address has received extremely high marks, naturally, the address was extremely to the point, extremely substantive and detailed. It is mainly about the country’s development for the next six years. This is, probably, the most competent forecast and plans for the country’s development that can be imagined from an active politician in Russia," the Kremlin official said.
He added that, in many ways, the address became part of Putin’s presidential election campaign. "This is his worldview for the next six years. He knows what to do, how and with whom, he knows whom he can rely on while implementing these plans," Peskov stressed.
That said, he disagreed with opinions that Putin’s recent address was the most substantive one. "The president had a lot of substantive addresses that truly determined the future. This is not the first address of the kind," the spokesman concluded. He invited everyone to read the president’s speeches on the Kremlin website.
