Ukraine loses third of Bradleys in special military op zone — media
On February 25, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine had lost 31,000 troops since February 2022
WASHINGTON, February 29. /TASS/. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 68 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles on the battlefield, which is one third of the total number of US vehicles of this model transferred to Kiev, columnist Peter Suciu said in an article for the US magazine The National Interest (NI).
"Out of 186 Bradleys provided to Ukraine, 68 have been reported as destroyed, damaged, or abandoned, highlighting the intense battlefield attrition," Suciu wrote. He noted that only 100 to 120 of the total number of vehicles were actively engaged in combat operations, while the rest were reserved for spare parts, personnel training and emergency replacements.
On February 25, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine had lost 31,000 troops since February 2022. He added that he could not name the number of wounded and missing. The New York Times pointed out that the number of Ukrainian military deaths mentioned by Zelensky was more than twice lower than the data that Washington had last summer.
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on February 27 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost more than 444,000 personnel during the special military operation, and since the beginning of 2024 they have been losing an average of more than 800 people per day.
