No talks on strategic stability with US detached from Russia's interests — Putin
"If you want to discuss crucial issues of security and stability, important for the globe, Russia is ready for a dialogue with the US," the head of state underlined
MOSCOW, February 29. /TASS/. Moscow rules out the possibility of strategic stability talks with Washington detached from Russia's national security interests, President Vladimir Putin said in his address to the Federal Assembly.
"Our position is clear. If you want to discuss crucial issues of security and stability, important for the globe, Russia is ready for a dialogue with the US. You should do it only in one package. Naturally, including all those aspects that concern our national interests and directly affect the security of Russia," Putin said.
"Where it is favorable for America to negotiate, they say, we will talk to the Russians. Where it is not favorable for them, they argue, there is nothing to discuss. As they themselves say, business as usual. They will be trying to defeat us there. This won’t do," Putin said.
