MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Almost all resident have left the Kiev-controlled city of Kherson, only "old people and the military" remain there, Russian senator from Kherson Region Igor Kastyukevich told TASS.
"There are water shortages, power outages, food shortages […] in Kherson. Only old people and the military remain in the city, the Ukrainian armed forces, which expel the elderly from their homes. If an apartment is fine, suitable for living, then they try to move in," Kastyukevich said.
He noted that many Ukrainian troops disguise themselves as civilians in Kherson.
According to the senator, the United Russia party retains "firm ties" with city residents, who were unable to leave it - mainly, due to family circumstances.
