Diplomat rejects G7’s demand that Russia clarify circumstances of Navalny’s death
"We view it as a blatant attempt to interfere in Russia’s domestic affairs," Maria Zakharova said
MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. The Group of Seven’s (G7) demand that Moscow "fully clarify the circumstances" around Alexey Navalny’s death is unacceptable, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement.
"The demand that Moscow should ‘fully clarify the circumstances’ around Alexey Navalny’s death is unacceptable. We view it as a blatant attempt to interfere in Russia’s domestic affairs," the statement reads.
Zakharova suggested that the G7 nations respond to Moscow’s requests concerning the tests that Navalny had taken in Germany, as well as the Skripal case and the Nord Stream gas pipeline sabotage. "So far, there are no convincing answers to these questions so the G7 countries have no right to expect reciprocity from Russia," the diplomat concluded.
