West’s arrogance makes any talks on Ukraine impossible — Lavrov
According to the Russian top diplomat, the speeches by UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock were "extremely anti-Russian," as they "dumped a heap of accusations, citing all sorts of atrocities against children Russia is allegedly kidnapping in Ukraine"
RIO DE JANEIRO, February 22. /TASS/. The West’s arrogance and Russophobic stance make any serious dialogue on Ukraine impossible, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
"To my great regret, this Russophobic energy and such an arrogant position, I would like to stress once again, which is seen especially from the Germans and has always been with the British, is incurable and unmoving. What kind of conversation can we have in such a situation?" he told journalists after the G20 ministerial meeting.
According to Lavrov, the speeches by UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock were "extremely anti-Russian," as they "dumped a heap of accusations, citing all sorts of atrocities against children Russia is allegedly kidnapping in Ukraine."
He stressed that Russia has reiterated its readiness for talks, which it expressed "two years ago in Istanbul" and cited US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s statement that he saw no conditions for the talks. "As for what is said by our colleagues, let them explain why they categorically don’t want any serious dialogue on real problems, which they created in Ukraine themselves," the top Russian diplomat said, adding that these problems include the Nazi regime, which "is seeking to exterminate everything Russian.".
