US aid to Ukraine largely goes to American military-industrial sector, says Medvedev
The senior Russian security official added that Washington is "spending hundreds of billions of dollars on a country that most Americans do not know where it is"
MOSCOW, February 22. /TASS/. The funds allocated from the US budget for Ukraine are largely spent on supporting the American military-industrial complex, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with the Russian media on Thursday.
"Instead of strengthening their own country, dealing with these border problems, solving the acutest social tasks existing in any state, including in wealthy America (in this case, it is really hard to disagree with some American lawmakers), they are spending hundreds of billions of dollars on a country that most Americans do not know where it is," Medvedev said, speaking about Washington’s support for Kiev.
As the senior Russian security official pointed out, when asked to show Ukraine, Americans "will long search for it on the world map as to where it is and what it is."
"It is clear that this money largely goes to support the US military-industrial complex but, on the other hand, it is not spent on social and economic measures," Medvedev said.
