Voting in Russian presidential election to take place at 288 polling stations abroad — CEC
According to Member of the Russian Central Election Commission Pavel Andreev, polling stations abroad can be set up no later than five days before the first voting day, that is, before March 9, 2024
MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. Voting in the Russian presidential election abroad will be held at 288 polling stations in 144 countries, Member of the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) Pavel Andreev said.
"Outside of Russia, 281 polling stations in 144 foreign countries will be set up, as well as seven voting stations in the city of Baikonur created earlier. Overall, the number of polling stations abroad will amount to 288 in 144 foreign countries," the official concluded.
Andreev also noted that polling stations abroad can be set up no later than five days before the first voting day, that is, before March 9, 2024.
The Federation Council has formally designated March 17, 2024 as the official date of Russia’s next presidential election. In turn, the CEC resolved that voting will take place over a three-day period on March 15-17, making it the first three-day presidential election in Russia’s history.
