Cuba, Eurasian Economic Union formulate concrete plans for cooperation — Lavrov

HAVANA, February 20. /TASS/. Cuba and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have formulated an entire range of concrete plans for cooperation that will be discussed with all EAEU member states in the near future, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters after his meeting in Havana with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel.
"We will promote further development of relations between Cuba and the Eurasian Economic Union," the top Russian diplomat said. "There is an entire range of specific plans that were discussed during the visit of Eurasian Economic Commission member Sergey Glazyev here. These plans will now be put on paper and discussed with all the members of the Eurasian Economic Union," Lavrov said.
"Cuba is interested in moving closer to the BRICS," the foreign minister said. "As the current BRICS chair during this year, Russia will proactively facilitate this [process]," he added.
