LONDON, February 17. /TASS/. The Minister Counselor of the Russian Embassy in London, summoned to the UK Foreign Office on Friday in connection with the death of Alexey Navalny, told representatives of the UK side that interfering in Russia’s internal affairs is unacceptable, the Russian diplomatic mission told TASS.

"On February 16, the embassy’s Minister Counselor was indeed invited to a conversation at the UK Foreign Office. During the meeting, the UK side voiced a number of biased and unrealistic assessments of the situation surrounding the death of Alexey Navalny, and also tried, without any justification, to blame the Russian authorities for what happened. In this regard, the Russian side emphasized the categorical unacceptability of the UK attempting to interfere in the purely internal affairs of our country," the statement said.

Russian diplomats emphasized the apparent nature of aggressive geopolitical objectives "pursued by the local political establishment, which is engaged in spreading biased anti-Russian insinuations even before all the circumstances of what happened are officially established.".
