MOSCOW, January 15. /TASS/. Russia's Charge d'Affaires in Yemen Yevgeny Kudrov said at a meeting with Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak that there’s a need to prevent further escalation of tensions in this country and adjacent waters, the Russian embassy in Yemen said.
The Russian diplomat "underscored the need to prevent further escalation of tensions in Yemen and adjacent waters, and warned that rising tensions could negate the progress that had been achieved in the Yemeni settlement," according to a statement the embassy posted to Telegram.
"A detailed discussion was given to the latest developments in Yemen, with an emphasis on the need to continue vigorous efforts to find a peaceful political solution to the Yemeni conflict," the statement said.
In addition, the "tragic developments in the Gaza Strip" were given a thorough consideration.
Overnight into January 12, the US and UK used planes, ships and submarines to attack the sites of Yemen's Houthis, a group also known as Ansar Allah, in some of the country’s cities.
