MFA says no positive developments in Russian agriculture exports on memorandum with UN
Moscow continues holding "consultations with the UN Secretariat on the issue of illegal unilateral sanctions against supplies of agriculture products, fertilizers from Russia to global markets," Maria Zakharova added
MOSCOW, January 12. /TASS/. The implementation of the memorandum between Russia and the UN on normalization of Russia’s agriculture exports has not brought the expected results, with no positive developments registered since last summer, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
"The implementation of one part of the Istanbul agreement, meaning the Russia-UN memorandum on normalization of Russia’s agriculture exports, has not brought the expected results from the viewpoint of organizing uninterrupted access for Russian goods to global market. As of today, there have been no positive changes or developments since last summer," she told a news briefing.
Moscow continues holding "consultations with the UN Secretariat on the issue of illegal unilateral sanctions against supplies of agriculture products, fertilizers from Russia to global markets," Zakharova added. "We expect real benefit from such contacts, the removal of restrictions imposed mainly by the US and EU countries that hinder financial transactions, insurance, logistics, supplies of components," she noted.
"As a reminder, Washington and Brussels have repeatedly stated that their restrictive measures do not cover Russia’s agriculture sector, whereas in fact this all contradicts the reality as the past two years showed," the spokeswoman said.
