MOSCOW, January 11. /TASS/. A noticeable increase in the number of volunteers joining the Russian army has made Kiev start forced mobilization, the deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, said at a meeting on the contract manning of the armed forces.

"Judging by the incoming information, such a large number of volunteers who have decided to stand up for the defense of their country has had a proper impression on our enemy. The Kiev regime, as you know, has urgently launched forced mobilization," he said.

Medvedev noted that Ukrainians in the EU countries were also being forcibly mobilized.

"It remains to be seen where all this will take them. As for us, we will continue our work," he concluded.

A video from the meeting was uploaded to Medvedev's page in the social media VKontakte.
