"De facto, there is still a legally enshrined refusal of Kiev to negotiate," Dmitry Peskov added

ANADYR, January 10. /TASS/. Moscow sees no progress in the peace process around Ukraine and therefore continues the special military operation, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"There is still nothing on any peace processes," the spokesman pointed out. "Very difficult processes are going on with this 'peace formula' of [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky: some countries are discussing some kind of 'peace formula' without Russia's participation. A very strange process, but nothing else, that is, there is nothing serious in this plan," Peskov noted.

"De facto, there is still a legally enshrined refusal of Kiev to negotiate. We are continuing our special military operation," Peskov emphasized.

Zelensky proposed the so-called peace formula in November 2022. It does not imply any steps on the part of Kiev and assumes compensation for losses from the fighting at Moscow's expense. While promoting the "peace formula," Ukraine has repeatedly rejected third-party offers and mediation.

The possibility of contacts between Ukraine and Russia has also been paralyzed after Zelensky signed a decree banning any talks with Moscow under Vladimir Putin's presidency. At the same time, Russia emphasizes that it has not refused to negotiate with Ukraine.
