MOSCOW, January 10. /TASS/. Russian forces struck Ukrainian army units in the Donetsk area, killing and wounding roughly 280 enemy troops over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.

Here are the details of this and other combat actions that happened over the past day, according to the Defense Ministry bulletin.

Donetsk Area

"The enemy’s losses amounted to roughly 280 personnel, two tanks, two [US-made] Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, three Kozak armored combat vehicles and 15 motor vehicles," the Ministry said.

"In counter-battery fire, Russian forces destroyed an Akatsiya motorized artillery system, D-20 and D-30 howitzers, a Gvozdika motorized artillery system and an artillery arms depot," the Ministry specified.

The Defense Ministry added that in the Donetsk direction, units of the southern battlegroup with the use of aviation and artillery delivered strikes inflicting damage on personnel and hardware of the 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 28th, 42nd and 93rd mechanized brigades and the Ukrainian National Guard’s 5th brigade near the settlements of Krasnoye, Bogdanovka, Andreyevka, Kleshcheyevka and Kurdyumovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

South Donetsk Area

The Ukrainian forces have lost more than 170 troops and two tanks south of Donetsk over 24 hours, the Defense Ministry said.

The military agency noted that in the past 24 hours, Russia’s Battlegroup East has repelled two attacks by assault groups from the 79th air assault and 72nd mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian army in the vicinity of the village of Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).

"A strike was delivered on enemy troops near the village of Paraskoviyevka of the Donetsk People’s Republic. The Ukrainian army lost over 170 troops, two tanks, three armored fighting vehicles and four cars. Also, during counterbattery work, a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery gun and a Grad MLRS combat vehicle were hit," the Defense Ministry added.

Zaporozhye Area

In the past 24 hours, the Russian Armed Forces repelled one Ukrainian attack near the settlement of Rabotino, the enemy lost up to 40 servicemen.

"In Zaporozhye area, Russian forces, supported by artillery fire, repelled an attack of Ukraine’s 3rd National Guard Brigade near the settlement of Rabotino, Zaporozhye Region," the Defense Ministry said.

Russian forces also inflicted fire damage to personnel concentration areas of the 117th Mechanized and the 128th Mountain Assault brigades north of Novoprokopovka, Zaporozhye Region.

"The Ukrainian forces lost up to 40 troops and 3 automobile vehicles," the Ministry added.

Krasny Liman Area

Russian forces struck Ukrainian army units in the Krasny Liman area, killing and wounding roughly up to 190 enemy troops over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, the Defense Ministry reported.

"In the Krasny Liman direction, army aircraft strikes and artillery fire by the battlegroup Center inflicted damage on enemy personnel and equipment of the 63rd and 66th mechanized brigades in areas near the settlement of Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic as well as near the Serebryanskoye forestry," the Ministry said in a statement.

The enemy’s losses in the Krasny Liman direction over the past 24 hours amounted to 190 personnel, two armored vehicles and two motor vehicles, the statement specified.

Kupyansk Area

Russia’s Battlegroup West repelled four attacks by Ukrainian troops in the Kupyansk area in the past day, neutralizing up to 145 Ukrainian soldiers, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"In the Kupyansk area, units of the Battlegroup West, supported by aviation and artillery fire, repelled four attacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 21st and 32nd mechanized brigades near the settlements of Terny and Sinkovka in the Kharkov Region. The enemy lost up to 145 troops, two infantry carriers and four cars. A US-made M777 artillery system, and a D-20 and D-30 howitzers were struck in counterbattery activities," the Ministry said.

Solntsepek TOS-1A heavy flamethrowers of the 6th combined arms army of the West battlegroup destroyed Ukrainian fortified bunkers with armored hardware in the Kupyansk direction, the Defense Ministry said. They fired to a distance of over 4.5 km.

Kherson Area

The Ukrainian armed forces lost up to 50 servicemen and a US-made M777 artillery system in the Kherson area over the past 24 hours, the Defense Ministry reported.

"The enemy lost up to 50 servicemen, two vehicles, as well as a US-made M777 artillery system," the military said.

The Ministry also said that Russia’s battlegroup Dnepr defeated the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian 38th marine brigade and the 121st territorial defense brigade on the right bank of the Dnieper River near the settlements of Tyaginka and Respublikanets in the Kherson Region.

Artillery and air defenses

Russian forces hit an ammunition depot and two drone assembly workshops, the Defense Ministry reported.

"In the past 24 hours, rocket and artillery forces, drone strikes hit a P-18 air defense radar, two drone assembly workshops, 113 Ukrainian artillery crews at firing positions, as well as personnel and vehicles in 121 areas," the Ministry said.

Russian air defense systems intercepted three HIMARS and Uragan MLRS projectiles and downed 34 Ukrainian drones in the course of the special military operation during the past day.

"Air defense systems intercepted three projectiles fires from HIMARS and Uragan multiple launch missile systems," the Ministry said, adding that 34 Ukrainian drones were shot down near the settlements of Maryinka, Berestovoye and Vodyanoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Belogorovka, Zhitlovka and Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Orlyanskoye in the Zaporozhye Region, and Kairy and Novaya Mayachka in the Kherson Region.

Total destroyed equipment count

According to the ministry, as many as 567 planes, 265 helicopters, 10,580 unmanned aerial vehicles, 447 air defense systems, 14,554 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,202 multiple rocket launch systems, 7,685 artillery systems and mortars, and 17,278 special military cars have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
