MOSCOW, January 9. /TASS/. Russia delivered a batch of humanitarian assistance, which included medicine and medical equipment, to Afghanistan during the New Year holidays, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"During the New Year vacation, the Russian side, with active assistance from the Afghan Business Center in Moscow and its head, renowned businessman Mohammad Nadir Shakh, organized a special flight to the Kabul airport to deliver a batch of medicine and special medical equipment, including wheelchairs," it said.
According to the ministry, the cargoes also included equipment for mobile shelters, "which are badly needed by Afghanistan’s population affected by natural calamities."
"Humanitarian assistance to the friendly Afghan people will continue," the ministry stressed.
