Valdai Club, Vivekananda Foundation to hold first Russian-Indian conference

NEW DELHI, January 8. /TASS/. The first Russian-Indian conference of the Valdai Discussion Club and the Vivekananda International Foundation will be held today in New Delhi.

Experts of the two countries will discuss views on alternative world orders, regional problems and bilateral ties.

"We have many communications with India now and we are constantly discussing the international situation. The actuality of holding the conference right now is largely underscored by the fact that we are in the proactive phase of evolution of what is called the new world order," Chairman of the Council of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club Andrey Bystritsky told TASS.

In October 2023, the Valdai Discussion Club and the Vivekananda International Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding in Sochi to facilitate the buildup of communications between experts and prominent figures in diplomacy, culture, economy and trade, education, international relations and mass media of the two countries,

The event on the territory of India signifies a "new and novel stage of Valdai Club activities" in this direction, the Club said on the verge of the conference. The conference program provides for two closed sessions, an open discussion and a closed meeting of participants with representatives of the Indian National Security Advisory Board.
