Russian envoy sees US loyalty to concept of war 'to fight to last Ukrainian'
"With endless tranches of so-called 'aid packages,' the United States essentially confirms its indifference to the fate of its wards," Anatoly Antonov maintained
WASHINGTON, December 28. /TASS/. The United States, by sending another military aid package to Kiev, demonstrates its commitment to "fighting to the last Ukrainian," but Washington should understand the futility of efforts to defeat Russia on the battlefield, the Russian diplomatic mission quoted Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov as saying on its Telegram channel.
"Washington sends a bloody New Year's gift to Kiev. Once again it demonstrates its loyalty to the concept of war 'to fight to the last Ukrainian.' But with a small addition - 'as long as there is enough money,'" he said, commenting on the US latest move to provide up to $250 mln in military aid to Ukraine. "The Administration cannot help but see the success of Russian soldiers. However, officials are afraid to admit Russia's crushing success in liberating Maryinka. Everything is being turned inside out: Ukrainian fetish 'victories' are being placed on display," he lamented.
"We are confident that Washington understood the futility of efforts to defeat us on the battlefield," the Russian diplomat continued. "Nevertheless, they are pushing the puppet regime to the abyss, dooming thousands of ordinary Ukrainians to certain death. With endless tranches of so-called 'aid packages,' the United States essentially confirms its indifference to the fate of its wards," he maintained.
According to Antonov, "new arms supplies cannot change the situation 'on the ground.'" "Not a single terrorist attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces with Western weapons use will remain without a decisive response. All NATO equipment and ammunition are going to be burned and destroyed. It's time for the Americans to abandon illusory projects to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia," he concluded.
On Wednesday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced this year’s final package of weapons worth $250 mln for Ukraine. It includes additional projectiles for NASAMS mobile anti-aircraft missile systems and HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, Stinger man-portable air defense systems and components for other air defense systems, 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds, AT-4, TOW and Javelin anti-tank missile systems, more than 15 mln of cartridges for small arms, "demolition ammunition for removing obstacles," spare parts, and other military equipment.
