MOSCOW, December 28. /TASS/. The degradation in the sphere of arms control is being observed due to the US’ destabilizing policy course and actions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an exclusive interview with TASS about the results of 2023.

"The situation with arms control is deteriorating due to the US’ destabilizing policy and specific destructive actions," he said.

The top Russian diplomat also noted that the US is "intentionally increasing tensions in the international security sphere." "These processes are tightly interlinked," he stressed.

"Washington’s logic is simple. The supports that ensured the US’ domination are sinking. Largely, due to the mistakes made by the Americans themselves who came to believe in their own ‘uniqueness,’ infallibility and impunity," Lavrov concluded.
