MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/. Russia sees attempts from abroad to provoke unrest in Belgrade, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters in comments on the recent rallies in the Serbian capital where protesters demanded a revision of parliamentary elections.

"There is domestic legislation, electoral agencies. There are also observers who have not recorded any violations that have the potential to put in question the legitimacy of the election that were held," the spokesman said. "Besides, it is evident that there are processes and attempts by third forces, including those from abroad, to provoke such unrest in Belgrade. This is what we are witnessing."

"We have no doubt that the country’s authorities will ensure law and order," Peskov underscored.

Previously, Serbian opposition bloc "Serbia against violence" attempted to assault the Belgrade city administration building. The rioters used flagpoles to dismantle the door, and shattered the windows, throwing beer cans and stones inside. They also destroyed the surveillance cameras. The police dispersed the rioters by midnight.

Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic warned that all opposition protests and provocative statements will yield no results, noting that "the power can change only via elections."

According to Vucic, "there will be no forceful regime change, no matter what the opposition does." The opposition claims their disagreement with the outcome of the Belgrade city parliament election, where the coalition, led by the ruling party, won previously.
