BAKU, December 22. /TASS/. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov discussed bilateral cooperation and the situation in the region in their phone call, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"A phone conversation between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took place on December 22. In their conversation, the ministers discussed bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as the current regional situation," the ministry said.

Earlier on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that in a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, Lavrov touched upon the South Caucasus, taking into account the regional nations’ special role in facilitating normalization between Baku and Yerevan.
