MOSCOW, December 21. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro discussed development of cooperation between the countries in energy, trade and cultural spheres in a telephone conversation, the Kremlin’s press service said.

"A telephone conversation between President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro took place. Current issues of Russian-Venezuelan cooperation in the field of energy, trade and investments, and the cultural-humanitarian sphere were discussed," the Kremlin said.

The two leaders exchanged congratulations with the coming New Year and Christmas, the Kremlin’s press service added.
