MOSCOW, December 21. /TASS/. Russia’s battlegroup West repelled nine Ukrainian attacks in the Kupyansk area over the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a daily bulletin of the special military operation.

Here are the details of this and other combat actions that happened over the past day, according to the bulletin.

Kupyansk area

"Coordinated actions of the battlegroup West, army aviation strikes, artillery and heavy flamethrower system fire repelled nine attacks of assault groups of the 95th Airborne Brigade, 14th and 43rd mechanized brigades near settlements of Sinkovka, Kharkov Region and Yampolovka, DPR," the ministry said.

The battlegroup also hit personnel and vehicle clusters near the settlements of Petropavlovka in the Kharkov Region and Terny in the DPR.

"Ukrainian forces lost up to 55 servicemen, two automobiles and two D-30 howitzers," the ministry said.

Krasny Liman area

Russian forces repelled a Ukrainian attack in the Krasny Liman area near Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic, causing the enemy to lose up to 190 servicemen.

"In the Krasny Liman area, Russia’s battlegroup Center repelled an attack of the 12th special forces brigade near Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the ministry said.

The ministry added that air strikes and artillery fire hit manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian63rd and 67th mechanized brigades near Torskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Serebryansky Forestry.

"The enemy’s losses were up to 190 servicemen, three infantry fighting vehicles, as well as a D-20 howitzer," the ministry said.

Donetsk area

"In the Donetsk area, units of the battlegroup South, operating in interaction with aircraft and artillery, repelled 17 attacks and inflicted damage on the Ukrainian army’s personnel and equipment in areas near the settlements of Bogdanovka, Belaya Gora, Artyomovo and Georgiyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian military lost as many as 210 personnel as killed and wounded, three pickup trucks, a UK-made AS-90 Braveheart self-propelled artillery system, three Akatsiya motorized artillery systems, two Gvozdika motorized artillery systems, a D-20 howitzer and a US-made AN/TPQ-37 counter-battery radar station.

South Donetsk area

"In the South Donetsk area, units of the battlegroup East, in cooperation with the army aviation and artillery, inflicted fire damage on personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian 72nd Mechanized Brigade and 79th Airborne Assault Brigade in the areas of the settlements of Katerinovka and Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The enemy lost up to 65 servicemen, a tank, three motor vehicles, a self-propelled Giatsint artillery unit and a D-20 howitzer," the ministry said.

Zaporozhye area

"In the Zaporozhye area, units of the Russian battlegroup repelled an attack by the assault group of the 65th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian army in the vicinity of the village of Rabotino in the Zaporozhye Region. Aviation and artillery strikes delivered damage to the adversary’s personnel and hardware near the villages of Novodanilovka and Malaya Tokmachka of the Zaporozhye Region. Ukrainian losses were up to 75 troops and four vehicles," the ministry said.

Kherson area

"As a result of active actions of Russian units, artillery fire and air strikes in the Kherson area, the enemy’s losses amounted to more than 70 servicemen, three vehicles, a Msta-B howitzer and a Giatsint-B artillery unit," the ministry said.

Air Force and air defenses

"Operational-tactical aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, rocket forces and artillery of Russian battlegroups hit Ukrainian military servicemen and equipment in 129 areas," the ministry said.

"Air defense systems downed 29 Ukrainian drones in the areas of Svatovo and Belogorovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic; Mayorsk, Gorlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic; Peremozhnoye in the Zaporozhye Region; Tavriysk and Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson Region; and four HIMARS rockets," the ministry said.

The ministry said that since the beginning of the special military operation, Russian forces destroyed 553 aircraft, 260 helicopters, 9,928 drones, 442 anti-aircraft missile systems, 14,226 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,189 multiple rocket launchers, 7,430 guns and mortars, as well as 16,547 vehicles.
