MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Russia expects to ink a comprehensive partnership agreement with Iran during their upcoming high-level meetings, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.

"The text of the Russian-Iranian comprehensive strategic partnership treaty has almost been agreed upon. We expect this fundamental interstate document to be signed during one of the upcoming high-level contacts," the diplomat said.

According to Zakharova, this event "will be a significant milestone in the centuries-long history of relations" between Russia and Iran.
