MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Russia’s battlegroup West repelled five Ukrainian attacks in the Kupyansk area over the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a daily bulletin of the special military operation.

Here are the details of this and other combat actions that happened over the past day, according to the bulletin.

Kupyansk area

"The battlegroup West repelled five attacks by assault groups of the 115th Ukrainian mechanized and 95th airborne assault brigades near the settlements of Sinkovka and Terny in the Kharkov Region," the ministry said.

The enemy’s losses were up to 40 servicemen, two infantry fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks, as well as a Gvozdika howitzer.

Krasny Liman area

Russia’s Battlegroup Center repelled two Ukrainian attacks in the Krasny Liman area over the past day, with the enemy losing up to 180 troops and six pieces of equipment.

"Units of the battlegroup Center, supported by artillery, repelled two attacks by Ukraine’s 63rd Mechanized Brigade near the settlements of Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Torskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.

The enemy also lost two armored fighting vehicles, three cars and a D-20 howitzer.

Donetsk area

Russian forces repelled a Ukrainian attack near Shumy in the Donetsk area and struck the enemy near three more localities in the Donetsk People’s Republic, with Ukraine sustaining up to 250 casualties.

"Units of the battlegroup South, supported by artillery, repelled an attack by assault teams of Ukraine’s 24th Mechanized Brigade near the settlement of Shumy in the DPR. Also, enemy manpower and equipment was struck with artillery and heavy flamethrowers near the localities of Kleshcheyevka, Kurdyumovka and Maryinka in the DPR," the ministry said.

The enemy lost up to 250 people as killed and wounded, a tank and three cars there.

Two Slovakian-made Zuzana 2 self-propelled artillery systems and a British-made AS90 howitzer as well as two Msta-B howitzers, two Akatsiya self-propelled artillery mounts, a D-20 howitzer and a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system were destroyed in counterbattery fire.

South Donetsk area

"Battlegroup East units, together with artillery and heavy flamethrower systems, inflicted firepower damage on personnel from the 72nd mechanized and 79th assault brigades of the Ukrainian army in the vicinity of the villages of Yelizavetovka, Vladimirovka and Novomikhaylovka of the Donetsk People’s Republic. The enemy losses amounted up to 110 troops, two pickup trucks and two Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers," the ministry said.

Zaporozhye area

"Russian forces hit the manpower and equipment of the 14th Ukrainian National Guard brigade, the 82nd airborne assault brigade and 116th mechanized brigade near the settlements of Verbovoye and Rabotino in the Zaporozhye Region," the ministry said.

The enemy lost up to 70 servicemen, two armored combat vehicles, four vehicles, two D-20 guns and a D-30 howitzer.

Kherson area

"As a result of coordinated actions by Russian troops and artillery fire, the enemy suffered losses of up to 75 men as killed and wounded, 2 vehicles, 2 howitzers Msta-B, one Giatsint artillery piece and one self-propelled artillery piece Gvozdika," the ministry said.

Air Force and air defenses

"Russia’s tactical aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery hit Ukraine’s manpower and military equipment in 127 areas," the ministry said.

Air defense systems downed a Ukrainian armed forces Mi-24 helicopter near the Uglesborochnaya railway station in Donetsk People’s Republic. Over the past day, five US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system munitions were intercepted.

Thirty-two Ukrainian drones were destroyed near the settlements of Novaya Mayachka in the Kherson Region; Staromikhaylovka, Spornoye, Krasnogorovka and Maryinka in the DPR; Belogorovka and Nyrkovo in the LPR.

"Overall, since the start of the special military operation, 553 aircraft, 260 helicopters, 9,899 unmanned aerial vehicles, 442 surface-to-air missile systems, 14,202 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,189 multiple rocket launchers, 7,416 field artillery guns and mortars and 16,502 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed," the ministry said.
