MOSCOW, December 15. /TASS/. The intent to prevent a scenario, in which Russia "gains an upper hand" will remain in the US in the nearest future, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said in an interview for the International Affairs magazine.
"I admit that certain politicians, journalists, experts may see things clearly after all," he said. "By the inertia of the American state machine and the mood of all those who set the tone there to prevent the scenario, in which Russia gains an upper hand, will prevail in the foreseeable future, at least."
Speaking about the attempts to block the financial support to Ukraine, Ryabkov noted that the "show for the public around the partisan struggle in the Congress repeats on various material with a certain frequency."
"Everybody understands that they will once again agree at the very last moment, will once again raise the state debt threshold for several trillions, shifting their current problems to the future generations of Americans. This show will continue just like it did before," the high-ranking diplomat said.
