Russia to counter attempts to influence, put pressure on international election observers
It is pointed out that "real clients and high-ranking managers of anti-Russian plans" in connection with the Russian 2024 presidential election know about "the effectiveness of Russian response measures to these kinds of challenges"
MOSCOW, December 13. /TASS/. Russia will have to take measures to counter attempts to "undermine the process of international observation" of voting on March 15-17, 2024 in the presidential election in order to protect the country’s electoral sovereignty, according to the annual report of the parliamentary upper house Federation Council's Ad Hoc Commission on Protecting State Sovereignty and Preventing Interference in the Domestic Affairs of the Russian Federation.
"Judging by the data available to the commission, to protect electoral sovereignty in 2024 it will be necessary to counter, in particular, attempts to undermine the process of international observation of the Russian presidential election, which is established by Russian law. We should also expect a large number of hacker attacks on the electoral infrastructure and other state institutions," the document published on the Federation Council's website said.
At the same time, the commission pointed out that "real clients and high-ranking managers of anti-Russian plans" in connection with the Russian 2024 presidential election "do not have any illusions about their results, knowing the true mood of Russian society and the effectiveness of Russian response measures to these kinds of challenges." "At the same time, they believe that another cascade of destructive measures will cause additional negative consequences inside and outside of Russia. Therefore, long before the official announcement of the day of voting and the beginning of the election campaign abroad, a campaign has begun to have the elections that have not yet begun and their results deemed as invalid," the lawmakers said.
