Over 11,000 legal appeals filed with Russian Constitutional Court so far this year — Putin
The president emphasized that practically all decisions of the Constitutional Court are executed immediately
NOVO-OGARYOVO, December 12. /TASS/. The Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation has received over 11,000 legal appeals from citizens so far this year, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with the court’s judges.
"You said you are receiving a host of appeals. My understanding is that this year you have already over 11,000," Putin said.
"And all of these [relevant judicial] decisions pertain to various areas of the law; we are analyzing this thoroughly," Putin added.
The president emphasized that practically all decisions of the Constitutional Court are executed immediately. However, if certain decisions are not carried out instantly for some reason, the president asked that the chairman of the Constitutional Court, Valery Zorkin, promptly contact him. "You and I are able to regulate all of these issues in the regular course of our work," Putin noted.
At the end of the meeting, he again thanked the judges for their work and also congratulated them on Constitution Day and "on the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the [country’s] fundamental legal document.".
